Kickstart your day with these tips for a healthy future
When we are young, we ignore a healthy lifestyle and as we age, we can feel the change. Owing to our fast-paced and hectic schedules, most of us don’t even sleep for 7 or 8 hours on a regular basis. This leads to the body feeling tired throughout the day. It is extremely important to have a good night’s sleep followed by a healthy morning to ensure you stay positive and energetic not only throughout the day but always.
Pranayama-first thing first
Pranayama is one of the keys to having a healthy lifestyle. You can start your morning with at least 15 minutes of pranayama every day. It’s easy, makes you feel energetic, and enhances the oxygen level in your body.

Don’t start your day with tea or coffee
Almost everyone is addicted to tea or coffee. It is the first drink or meal of the day, but it shouldn’t be. It is important to eat a handful of soaked nuts or fruit, majorly a banana to keep your body produces. Keeping away from addiction can take you long.
Switch to green tea
Many don’t understand the importance of green tea but green tea is loaded with antioxidants. Moreover, green tea has different bioactive compounds that not only augment brain function but also lower the risk of type 2 diabetes, Alzheimer's, Parkinson’s, so on. It helps in fortifying the immune system and cleanses the body of toxins. It is also beneficial for burning fat. When you switch to green tea, it helps to keep you energized throughout the day. Don’t add sugar, if needed add honey or jaggery. However, don’t overindulge in green tea as it contains considerable amounts of caffeine.
Stay away from addictions
Consumption of alcohol or smoking cigarettes can lead to a wide number of health issues including hepatitis, cirrhosis of the liver, smoker’s lung, and so on. Even chewing tobacco is not good for health. The incidence of liver diseases is also on the rise due to the growing trend of social drinking. So, it is best to keep smoking and drinking at bay, especially in the morning.
Say no to processed foods
Processed foods, be it frozen meat, health bars or pieces of bread are nothing but fads that don’t have any health benefits. They undergo multiple stages of processing and equip chemical additives that increase their shelf life that makes these products harmful for health. Many of these foods also contain high amounts of sugar and salt, as well as flavor enhancers lead to a host of health problems including obesity and mood swings. Go for natural products rather than processed food.
King size breakfast
According to the proverb, eat breakfast like a king needs to be followed as your body needs to wake up on a powerful note. After more than seven hours of not eating anything, your body needs to wake up on a great note. A good breakfast should be wholesome and packed with enough nutrients that can keep you going throughout the day. You can eat eggs, a portion of fruit along with some whole-grain foods like oatmeal, poha, upma, dosa as they contain complex carbohydrates that release energy slowly through the day. If you are a vegetarian, you can eat cheese rather than eggs.
Drink plenty of water
Make sure you drink at least 12 glasses of water in a day. All the major organs of our body need water for functioning normally. Water is known to heal our body by flushing out the toxins. Drinking enough water keeps the skin and hair healthy. Try to drink at least half a liter of water just after waking up.
Keep a positive attitude
It is difficult for many to keep a positive attitude amidst a chaotic lifestyle, but it is important to practice optimism for better living. Analyze your thoughts and stress levels to fight problems such as depression, anxiety, and so on. A positive outlook helps in building immunity and increase overall wellbeing. Look for reasons to smile and stay away from negative thoughts and people.
