Bollywood celebrities who are stepping up to help people fight against COVID-19
In this pandemic situation, many are struggling with their battles but several actors have come forth to help people. The spike in COVID cases is not the only thing that has to get an alarm across India, but it is also the lack of oxygen cylinders and medicines. Amidst all, some of the Bollywood celebrities are coming forward to help the people fight against this deadly infection. So here is a list of the topmost actors who are helping people at this hour.
When India was panicking with the emergence of the virus, actor Sonu Sood has turned into a real-life hero.
“He has always been at the forefront and helps the needy. He has also opened the channel called India fights with COVID on Telegram mobile application, where he is helping people finding hospitals, medicines, and oxygen.”
Priyanka Chopra Jonas is enthusiastically using social media to share covid-19 resources since the second wave has initiated. In India Priyanka and her husband have also launched a fundraiser a partnership between the Priyanka Chopra Jonas foundation and give India. The funds will directly go towards critical medical infrastructure, medical equipment, and vaccination support.
Salman Khan is another hero who is doing his best. He has immense respect for frontline workers and his mother even makes handmade tiffin for the police personnel who has been station outside his house on security duty. Last year Salman Khan and his Bollywood friends help send care packages to migrant workers who were stranded during the coronavirus in post lockdown.
Sushmita Sen has tweeted a request for helping her to transport oxygen cylinders from Mumbai to Delhi. She has managed to organize a few oxygen cylinders for a Delhi hospital but there was no transport system to send those from Mumbai to Delhi. Soon she was inundated with offers for help and the next day she updated about the cylinders are on the way to Delhi hospital from Mumbai.
This actor and director partnered with Mumbai’s Brihanmumbai Municipal Council to set up an Intensive Care Unit for the patients as there was a shortage of ICU beds across the country. Devgn along with other producers helped raise 10 Million Rupees through NY Foundation and help the BMC build a 20-bed emergency facility at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park.
Akshay Kumar and her wife have donated hundred oxygen concentrators to contribute to the fight against the covid-19 pandemic. Apart from this, Akshay has also donated INR 1 crore to Gautam Gambhir Foundation so that they can help affected people in this pandemic situation.
Bhumi Pednekar who has recovered from covid-19 is now sharing videos and posts about coronavirus resources. She has also started a drive to identify plasma donors and encourage people to come forward and donate plasma to save lives.
Sunil Shetty has launched an initiative called Mission Million Air to offer people free oxygen concentrators. They aim to help people who can't afford adequate healthcare. The actor also shared this on his social media and urged his fans to come forward and contribute to the mission.
The actor Ayushmann Khurrana and his wife (Tahira Kashyap) have contributed to the Maharashtra Chief Minister's relief fund to raise the amount. The actor also asked everyone to help as it is a humanitarian crisis.
